I can not recommend Tudor Cottage enough
After staying in your cottages for the third time, I can not recommend enough the Cottages and the closeness of fantastic trails to any fellow mountain bikers. The friendly Llandelga 15 mins / The tiring Moel Famau near Ruthin 25 mins / The perfect Marin trail at Betws y Coed 20 mins / The awesome Coed y Brenin 30 min / and loads and loads of local trails to find and even the Goat pub 10 mins there, is worth a ride out for, thanks for the use of the jet wash it was needed.
Hopefully see you soon

We have never stayed anywhere like it!
First of all please wish Sam a very Happy Birthday from all of us,we hope he had a really good day.
Next, now I have had time to get everything sorted out and I am now feeling 100% we wanted to send you an e-mail to thank-you so much for the wonderful two weeks we have just spent in the cottage. As I wrote in the visitors book we have never stayed anywhere like it. Everyone who I have shown my photos to have been very impressed by the high standard. Everything had been thought of especially where the children were concerned… they loved the pool table as you probably gathered!!! It was lovely as well for your boys to be so friendly with Iain and Shaun. We have some really good photos of them all and I will try and e-mail them through to you.We can easily see now why many people have returned and we all would love to visit again in the future.
Thank-you again for you kindness and hospitality.
Debbie,Nigel, Iain and Shaun
Everything is just right
As you know we recently arrived on your doorstep for the second time in as many months for a weekend break. For me this was just what I needed. The views, the cottage with its wonderful feeling, the feeling of being AWAY from everything but not feeling cut off at all and the eggs!! I can’t really find the right words to describe how it makes me feel, but it feels right. The cottage itself is absolutely beautiful. You can tell how much work has gone into each room making it the place it is, so much attention to detail. The views are breathtaking.
Everything is just right. As you know we (or maybe just I) will be back as soon as I see there is a vacant space with the bookings!!
Best wishes and kind regards
Susan and Joshua, Gloucestershire
Better than home!
Better than home, not as many kids!!! Did exactly what I wanted to and that was chill, relax and sleep, have done plenty of all whilst boys became ‘countrified’, forget K Swiss and Lacoste, give them a pair of wellies and they’re happy.
Have seen this cottage develop from the shell that it was 17 years ago and this is the 1st time we’ve stayed in it. It is so much more than I expected, Linda and Lawrence perfect landlords and the boys are the ‘loveliest’; wonderfully refreshing for my 2 to spend so much time outside, ‘playing’ rather than on PS2s etc. How can it possibly fail to capture your heart and make you wish you could have this forever, even a townie like me.

Just found 2 minutes, after a hectic return to work, to send you a note. Judy and I thought your cottage was one of the loveliest we’ve encountered - and we’ve seen a lot! - and certainly the best view. Fantastic job with the renovation.
Thanks for the welcome and the scones, plus the eggs, of course. If you ever do an ad on the net or wherever, you can quote me!
We returned via the route to Wrexham, as you suggested and saw the most sensational scenery. Like being in North America! Much quicker, too.
Good luck with the other cottage.

We meant to write in your visitors book before we left today however, what with throwing sticks for Max, finding out where Tibbs had hidden himself and looking around the Granary I forgot!
Thanks for such a lovely time. Tudor Cottage cannot be beaten for peace and quiet, its wonderful location and its beautiful interior all add up to a perfectly serene time. We both needed a break from the hustle and bustle of our lives (not to mention some pretty horrible times we have had this year) and Tudor Cottage was exactly what we were looking for. Never before have I come across a holiday home which was a home in every sense of the word. Before now, we have always raced to get out of the place we have stayed and to go visiting somewhere during the day. Not so with Tudor Cottage!! We were so comfortable that just curling up on the sofa was the best way we could think of of spending the evening!!
Many thanks for such a lovely stay, we hope to see you again soon.

A massive thank you!
Just a quick not to say ” a massive thankyou” for another great holiday in the cottage. This was our third visit and it gets better every time!
What we really like is the relaxing atmosphere everytime we stay and the superb hospitality afforded to us by you all.
The cottage is fantastic, the countryside beautifull and the settting perfect!.....see you again in March.

Lovely cosy cottage with a lot of facilities
We had a great time, even though it was raining all the time. Played pool, darts, used sauna and hot tub. There are a lot of lovely cosy things in the cottage - a lot of books, board games, music and movies, fire place, everything else that you might need. Our daughter loved gathering organic chicken eggs. Lovely walks in the mountains, around the lake. Nice small towns not too far. Lovely stay. Thanks a lot!

We have stayed here twice and each time it has been brilliant. Secluded, well equipped and clean. The conservatory is great, free eggs, full Sky TV, excellent kitchen, stunning scenery. We took our 2 year old and he loved it.

Excellent rural retreat
We stayed here on 6th November 2015 and it was exactly how I pictured it in my mind. We had been with our two young children and could not take advantage of the hot tub but Lawrence gave us the role of collecting chickens and feeding them twice a day, my 4 year old daughter was absoloutely made up. We didn’t have the weather unfortunately but with two horses, chickens and roaming fields with sheep, we had spells in the fields to have fun. The cottage was excellent, everything you need and very comfortable. Now I have to say, Linda and Lawrence cater for everything because the children had an assortment of games to play with in the conservatory, we were finding toys everywhere which kept them busy. The cottage boasts sky movies and sports but to be fair the lake and surrounding area provides a lot to do. We will be returning but will probably drag the folks with us to look after the little ones when we go the hot tub. A warm welcome awaited us at the cottage, Lawrence and Linda are really nice people, the scones were extra nice too. This place has the lot , I don’t often say that neither Thanks to Linda and Lawrence for a fab weekend There was also a games room and

We stayed with some good friends for 3 nights and can’t really see how this can be improved on. The location and property are all first class, add this to some amazing weather and it made for the perfect weekend break. We made use of the Hot-Tub, games room and sauna, all of which only add to the whole experience. i will definitely book and again.

Beautiful cottage, perfect for unwinding
Beautiful views all around the cottage. Lovely to step out of the front door and set off on walks without having to use the car to get there (although lots of lovely walks and activities within easy driving distance). Friendly owners and the cottage is always clean, warm and the best place to unwind.

We spent a week in Tudor Cottage, which wasn’t long enough! The cottage itself was lovely, clean and tidy. We enjoyed evenings in the games room playing pool and, on my part, attempting to play darts which was all good fun. We also enjoyed the hot tub, set up on a hill the views are beautiful day and night. We were very grateful for the opportunity to collect eggs from the chickens. Not only were they very tasty but our little one loved doing it, he even managed a cheeky cuddle with a chicken! We enjoyed every day out, we visited the slate museum which was interesting and free! We also visited Shell Island which was amazing, an absolutely beautiful place with the added bonus of finding pretty little shells and also a fair few washed up jelly fish! We popped into Children’s Farm Park a couple of times as you get a free returns ticket. This was more for the little ones sake however we all had a fantastic time holding goats, getting our clothes eaten by cows and cuddling sheep! North wales is simply beautiful and that was only complimented by our Stay in the cottage.

A beautiful cottage in a stunning location was what we were looking for and Tudor Cottage scored 10 out of 10 on both counts. The cottage had everything you could need for a relaxing week away from it all in this beautiful part of North Wales. Away from it all enough to enjoy the peaceful surroundings but close enough to enjoy all that the area has to offer such as lovely Llangollen and Bala Lake. Following a somewhat strenuous day walking up Snowdon we were able to relax in the hot tub and gaze out over the stunning views which have to be seen to be believed. From canoes and fishing in the lake to pool and darts in the games room the property has it all. It is clear to see that a lot of love and care has gone into the cottage, games, books and dvd`s for the children, maps and guides for walkers etc, Everything has been thought of, even fresh eggs straight from the hen house for breakfast. All in all a fantastic place to holiday. What more could you ask for ? Answer: Nothing

Tudor Cottage was recommended to me by a work colleague. The cottage is very well equipped and in a great location, It is the ideal place to get away from it all for a week or two, we would stay there again without a doubt. If fact, we probably will. Linda and Lawrence are a very nice couple. Maurice and Sarah.

Blissful home from home
Tudor Cottage and The Granary are everything one could ever hope for in a Welsh countryside retreat, but somehow it still surpasses expectations. The cottage is clean, well-furnished and extremely comfortable. You will want for nothing, but we especially enjoyed the birds visiting the patio every morning; the hot-tub with an awe-inspiring view; the private lake to swim in and the walks into the hills without meeting a soul. I don’t believe you could regret booking to come and stay here, your only regret will be having to leave.

Planned at the very last minute, Linda was able to make arrangements even though she was away when I contacted them. Everything was as described or better and the cottage was cosy and comfortable. Although I didn’t use the hot tub or sauna as this was a short visit, I hope to return and make use of both next time. Many thanks for being so accommodating at short notice.

Peaceful location and cosy cottage
We had a super week at Tudor cottage. A superb location with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. An ideal spot to relax. The cottage is well equipped, warm and cosy. The conservatory opens out into the garden with a sunny patio and great views. A lovely spot to listen to the birds and watch the hens! The facilities are excellent especially for children. The lake, offering swimming, paddling and canoeing, the games room, bikes and walks from the doorstep all lend themselves to great outdoor fun. The hot tub was wonderful! Linda and Lawrence made us most welcome, the scones on arrival much appreciated. It is a good base from which to explore. Our son and daughter in law completed the treetop adventure at Betswycoed. Would recommend for children and adults. The nearby Rhugg Estate farm shop definitely worth a visit. We would certainly return.

Tudor cottage review
I stayed at Tudor cottage with a friend for a long weekend away and a relaxing break. Tudor cottage surpassed our expectations and was exactly what we were looking for. We turned up at around 2pm on a Friday and we were greeted by a tray of tasty scones and a cup of tea which were much needed after a long drive. Linda popped in a bit later in the day to make sure we knew where everything was and to make sure we had settled in Ok. The house itself pretty much caters for every eventuality (which comes in helpful when you accidentally forget to bring the sugar) it even has a big box of games, colouring pencils and paper for the kids should the need arise (or in our case big kids). There are plenty of things to do nearby including walking, watersports and horse riding or if you fancy going to the coast it’s about an hour away. We loved the hot tub and the sauna but it might be a bit treacherous to get up to in wet weather (yes we are the odd ones that get into the hot tub when it’s raining). Personally I loved the fact that everyday we would have a visit from the local chicken population, which I am told you are welcome to take eggs from in the coop below the house (however my friend who is terrified of all things bird like would heartily disagree :-D). All in all we had a great time and would love to move in but I’m sure Linda might object. I completely recommend staying here as it is a home away from home in the tranquil hill tops of Wales.

A peaceful holiday
This is our fourth visit to Tudor cottage and once again a peaceful holiday with wonderful views and great walks. Bala is a very nice town with shops and very good cafes and restaurants with very friendly people. The cottage has everything we need very clean with very comfy beds. The lake has canoes and a picnic island also with fishing facilities. Not many places where you can sit in a hot tub with 180 degrees views of the welsh mountains. wi-fi is available if you do need the outside world. Ideal cottage for visitors with young children. In our opinion Tudor cottage is an idea holiday location.

This is a beautiful cottage in an idyllic location. The views are spectacular especially from the hot tub. It is a very romantic setting and a place to really get away from it all for couples or families, but also there are many country walks and mountain bikes available and also kayaks for those who are looking for a more active holiday. You will not get bored here, there is so much to do. This is our second year visiting the cottages, last year we stayed at the granary cottage and this year we took friends with us so stayed at the larger Tudor cottage. We intend to try and visit again later in the year. I cannot recommend it enough.

Hi Jo, hi Simon Thank you very much for your very kind review! We tried to create an environment that anyone could enjoy, whether they were with their family, on their own or with their partners and hopefully we have achieved that. Lawrence and I travel all over the world with work and we definitely know what we like and what we don’t like with holiday accommodation and hopefully we have used that knowledge to good effect with The Granary & Tudor Cottage. Please don’t hesitate to give us a call next time you want to visit ‘sunny’ Wales again. Best regards Linda

Beautifull cottage in a lovely tranquil setting
We stayed at Tudor Barn for a few nights in early February. The cottage was very clean, well equipped, everything you would expect and need for a relaxing few days. Being early in the year the weather was obviously unpredictable but the cottage was very warm and welcoming on arrival. The are many walks in the area with some very beautiful countryside, the wellington boots certainly came in handy!! The hot tub was a real bonus, perched on a small incline with great views which we thoroughly enjoyed. Linda (the owner) was on hand to greet us on arrival and made us very welcome. We would recommend Tudor Cottage and certainly will be returning ion the future. Thanks for a wonderful relaxing few days, just what we needed. Chris and Donna

Cosy cottage with amazing views, and plenty to do!
Definitely one of the best cottages we’ve stayed in ever, Tudor cottage fully lived up to our expectations and beyond. Our four night stay flew past, and with the hot-tub on the hill, a lake with canoes, not to mention a diving platform (for those brave enough in February!), the games room, sauna, frisbee golf, and the walks in the beautiful scenery, there was no time to get bored. The cottage was warm and cosy, and extremely comfortable (especially the sofa in the conservatory over-looking the hills). Would we go back to Tudor cottage?... we didn’t want to leave it!
Thanks Linda and family for a wonderful stay.

A Piece of Heaven
Just what was needed, gorgeous cottage in beautiful surroundings! From day one our group of 4 were beyond impressed with Tudor Cottage. Lovely sized kitchen with modern appliances, a 4 person dining table, included were various pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, glasses, mugs, salt, pepper, oil, free sachets of tea, coffee, sugar and many other useful items that you would have in your own kitchen! Thank goodness there was also a bottle opener as I always forget wherever I go and get stuck usually. Linda and Lawrence (wonderful friendly hosts) also laid out a welcome gift of yummy scones and tea set on the table which was so lovely to tuck into on arrival! We also give it 10/10 for cleanliness. So clean! Super comfortable bedrooms with heavenly mattresses, duvets and linen. Awesome nights sleep. Dressing table was handy for me and long mirror. Beautiful conservatory, great when the weather is yukky and you’re having an indoor cottage day. The swinging chair item was my fave and a large C shaped sofa area enabling us all to fit on it comfortably to enjoy the surroundings together. The resident chickens came out in the private garden area to greet us every day which was so cute. Plenty of games in the games box, books everywhere. Ping pong table outside, pool and darts in the barn with sauna AND oh my god….the large HOT TUB on the hill! We were always craving to get into it at the end of the day if we had been walking or trekking around for hours…total godsend! Bring a torch if you intend on using it at night and you can use the useful box next to it for robes, towers, sandals, shoes should it start raining when you. We also used the BBQ one night for burgers (just purchase Quick Fire coal if you want a quick turn-around for dinner) Never have we been in such impressive accommodation with so much to offer. My husband and I as well as our friends couldn’t believe how wonderful everything was and miss being there every day. Felt utterly spoilt. Oh sorry, did I forget to mention there’s a private lake with kayaks and bikes available to use? We didn’t use them as our itineraries were full but we would have used them had we stayed an extra few days. So many things, so little time. Sigh. All in all, future guests will leave adoring the cottages and the surroundings as much as we did without a doubt. Linda and Lawrence have thought of everything to make it a piece of heaven. Hope to come back soon, thanks for everything and for being superb hosts!

A Brilliant Stay
We spent a week in Tudur Cottage and are a family of four, and each one of us loved our stay. The picturesque cottage is not in close proximity to any metropolitan centres, so it is always quiet and peaceful and you can take in all of the nature around you. The hot tub is very relaxing and easy to operate, and the games room will keep people of all ages entertained. The actual facilities within the cottage itself are superb; everything works just as it should in kitchen and bathroom areas, and the bedrooms are all you could ask for (the master even has an ensuite). The cottage doesn’t appear to be too big from the outside, but on the inside it feels just the right size - this is all just a part of it’s charm ultimately. The information we recieved prior to and upon our arrival was more than sufficient, and we were pleased to find that the vast majority of attractions we wanted to visit were not a great distance away. We visted places such as Betswy-Coed, Portmeirion and Llandunoe, and attractions such as Conwy Castle and Zipworld (the world’s fastest zipline, I belive), and all were great days out. Also, to come to a place so close and not go into Snowdonia to visit Mount Snowdon would have been a crime, so we did that too, although the weather wasn’t as nice as we would have hoped that day, but that can’t be helped. All in all, a great time was had by everyone, which is some feat as our family has a diverse range of age groups with their own interests. Thankyou for being such kind hosts and for providing such a great cottage for us to spend our holidays in.

A wonderful experience
Tudor cottage was so much more than we expected. Waking up each morning taking our daughter to collect eggs and see the chickens was a wonderful experience as was the chickens and cows roaming around. It was a vey relaxing holiday with our favorite room being the conservatory to relax and unwind. It is situted in a good location to travel out to Barmouth and Llandudno which we enjoyed. The lake was excellent as well much more than we expected and the kids really enjoyed it. I think our favorite time spent together was in the hot tub as darkness came in and to see so many stars was amazing. Many thanks to Linda & Lawrence. From Alex, Sonya & family.

The owner could not have been more welcoming and friendly. The house was well set up for us, a family of 4. Everything worked and was in good order. It was cosy and warm with plenty of hot water. We spent a wonderful week in July/August in Tudor Cottage. We found the house to be very comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen and lots of living space. We particularly loved using the hot tub in the evenings (amazing views while relaxing in the hot tub!), playing frisbee golf up on the hill, table tennis and pool, and also enjoyed getting fresh eggs from the hens who roamed the grounds! We really fell in love with the surrounding hillside and the nearby walks. There was so much to do, we’d love to come back again!

Relaxing cottage in a great location.
We enjoyed a relaxing family holiday over the xmas break 2017. The cottage was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Everything we could need was provided. The cottage is located close to lots of popular attractions but once we arrived we didn’t use the car again until the day we left as we found so much to do on the doorstep. Some days we stayed in and played games but we also went on walks, played frisbee-golf, pool, darts and even used the canoes. One highlight is the hot tub, with stunning views over the valley. Linda and Lawrence are really lovely people who, on the day of our departure, even delayed their own plans to help us navigate the roads out safely due to heavy snow the night before. This was a really nice touch and we were most appreciative. It is a very relaxing place to stay that would appeal to all age groups. We would love to return here ourselves someday.

Home from Home
From the minute we booked our weekend away, the correspondent from the owner Linda was second to none..Before we reach the property I felt as though I knew her. Arriving at the property late afternoon the lights and heating had been put on for us. As soon as we entered the cottage we knew we were going to have a good weekend. It was small enough to be cosy but large enough that the 4 of us weren’t on top of each other. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, bedrooms were spacious with Sky in both rooms. We stayed in both nights we were there and watched a couple of the numerous dvds that was provided. Everywhere was spotlessly clean !! Tudor cottage was real chocolate box retreat.

Beautiful weekend break whatever the weather!
What a beautiful place with fantastic activities. From the minute we arrived Linda gave us a tour and advice of walks to go on. We loved the games room and the frisbee golf. Hot tub of an early evening is beautiful. Tudur cottage itself was gorgeous with everything you possibly need provided. Great value for money. Would definitely recommend.

We couldn’t recommend this cottage enough, everything was perfect! Lots to do but also the perfect place to relax and just take in the scenery! The owners were very accommodating and friendly and made sure we were settled in when we arrived. We would highly recommend staying at this cottage!

Tudor cottage is a magical place, I would definitely recommend.
We were a party of three exploring Snowdonia so it suited us perfectly as we could hop it the jacuzzi after a long walk in the snow. The house was very well renovated with attention paid to every detail. It was always worm even with the snow outside and the owners were very accommodating, we were very well looked after.

Beautiful home from home
Such a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing place to spend a few days away on our own away from the stresses and strains of family and work life. From the moment that we booked to the day that we arrived we were made to feel welcome at this wonderful property. We both said that if we had the chance we would live there, spending our days walking, cycling, taking in the picturesque views of this area of Wales from the hot tub (ideally situated) and then going into the lovely warm sauna afterwards. We have both said that we will be back whether it is just the two of us or with our son. We are going to recommend this property and the adjacent property to all our friends and family. Although I know a lot of people will shout at us as you have to be quick to book as you’ll never get the opportunity to stay in this wonderful place.

A Luxury Relaxing Retreat
Thank you to Linda and Lawrence for another great stay in Tudur Cottage. Once again, immaculately presented and nothing is too much trouble for them. They were telling us about plans to upgrade the properties which will make the fantastic even better. We have now stayed here 6 or 7 times and will keep going back as for us, it’s the perfect relaxing break. Whether you want the peaceful break or you want something a little bit more active, this place makes an ideal base. The hot tub on the Hill is also a great experience either watching the sun go down or it come up again! Just take a warm dressing gown in the Winter months as it can feel very bitterly cold when getting out… Lawrence gave us a little recommendation for a new restaurant in Corwen called Old Wives Tales, Once again, a fantastic find and very impressive artisan food at realistic prices. Once again, thanks Linda and Lawrence for making our stay a very relaxing enjoyable one. You only have to read the guest comments book to see that everybody enjoys it here. I couldn’t find a bad comment from several years of comments - We can honestly say book and stay here and you will not be disappointed…. Tony and Andrea

Beautiful location and wonderful home
Stayed for 2 nights with my 2 friends and couldn’t have picked a better location for a relaxing weekend away. Linda the owner is lovely, she was there to greet us and show us around but then left us to explore ourselves. The Tudor cottage is lovely, it had every amenity we could need. I have no problem recommending this property and the fresh eggs from the hen house was a novelty! Thanks Linda for the use of your beautiful home.

A beautiful cottage set in a rural area with lovely surroundings.
We had a brilliant time in Tudor cottage, which had everything in it and more than we expected. The hot tub, lake and beautiful surroundings made our break a very pleasant and wonderful experience. Fresh eggs in the morning from the chickens who also came to visit us was lovely. We had great weather which meant we could enjoy the area and surrounding villages and mountains even more than we would have normally. We visited Bala, Bets- ye coed, Llangollen, Corwen and Llanberis . The canals and lakes made our walks very adventurous. The facilities in the cottage were good and we felt like we were at home with all the basic amenities such as cooking oil , spices and dried food. The rooms were spacious, beds comfortable and there was more there than we had anticipated. The host Lawrence was lovely, very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. All in all we had a brilliant stay in North Wales.

5 stars in every way with no hesitation
What can I say? If your looking for a quiet & tranquil location yet still a well appointed holiday in North Wales then look no further, Hafod Tudor ticked every single box for us and then some. The cottage itself is simply stunning with the most beautiful scenery literally on the doorstep, I don’t think I’m going overboard to use the phrase idyllic and my Wife and I are looking forward to many more stays here over the coming years. We spent 7 days in August this year with our two early teen daughters and all four of us enjoyed every single aspect of our time here. The lovely owners have thought of every single thing you could need to stay and were the most helpful, accommodating hosts we could have asked for. Lots of useful local information was provided in a handy pack detailing every aspect of the cottage and local information too, this helped ensure that we didn’t struggle with anything during our time from meals out, to attractions near and far, handy hints and tips and even suggestions for walks and other activities. The hot tub on the hill was a huge hit and our daughters had to be practically forced from it most nights such was their delight at soaking in the scenery while relaxing, similarly the kayaks on the lake were another that we spent a good deal of time on too. By the end of our stay we were so sorry to be leaving, I could honestly have remained at Hafod Tudor forever & as I said previously, we’re looking forward to our next visit and many more with eager anticipation. Thank you Linda and Lawrence so much for having us. The Woodward Family

Beautiful cottage, location is perfect, plenty of activities!!!
This is our 5th time staying at the cottage, once you have found the perfect place to stay there is no point looking elsewhere! The cottage is beautiful and has everything you need. There is so much to do you don’t need to leave, beautiful walks and views on your doorstep, table tennis, canoeing, frisbee golf, pool table, darts board and when you have finished your activities you can unwind in the sauna and hot tub!!! For those rainy days there are board games, books, sky tv and Netflix Linda is a lovely host and makes sure you have everything you need for your stay! You are welcomed with welsh cakes and the kitchen is stocked with essentials. I will keep coming back to this little gem in the middle of nowhere! I can not rate this place enough and would highly recommend a stay! Thank you once again for such an amazing holiday, Faye & Lee.
